Radiology is a branch of medicine that uses imaging technology to diagnose and treat disease.
It can be divided into two different areas: diagnostic radiology and interventional radiology.
- Diagnostic radiology helps healthcare providers see structures within the body.
- Interventional radiology is when imaging such as computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and fluoroscopy are used to help detect or treat conditions in almost any part of the body.
